Playing with Flowers & Gift from Vania!

My adorable niece turned ten years old and she asked me if I
could make her some accessories for her birthday present.

Instantly, I said yes of course and I knew I would have some
fun ahead of me in the process. I've been having such a great
time with felt again lately that I decided to use it for some
of the pieces.

I also had time to create a few extras in the batch that I
plan to put in my etsy shop soon.

Below is a felt flower I added to a fabric headband. I know
purple is one of her favorite colors. Mine too!

Stitching up goodies is always fun & relaxing for me.

I even made some flower pendants using canvas. Now you know I
can't stay away from painting something for very long. :) That's
why I enjoy mixed media so much.

And...Oh My Goodness! I also received my last OWOH gift in
the mail last week. Yay! It's the art doll I won from the fabulous
artist Vania of http://fantasywhispersblog-ooak.blogspot.com/.
Thank you so much Vania! I will treasure her always! :)

You can click on
the image to see
an enlarged photo
of her amazing
creation. I was
so happy she
permitted me to
use her photos
because I knew
my camera skills
could not do her
doll justice. Vania
is a professional
art doll sculptor
who has a magical
imagination. You
can find more
OOAK creations
from Vania's shop here.

Happy Friday to you all!

Hugs,
Lisa :)

  1. I love your felt creations! You are so imaginative to come up with so many designs. Hand sewing always relaxes me, too. Whenever I am stressed, I sit down and sew something, then I am calmer. Funny how that works.

  18. Felt and flowers go so perfectly well together. I love what you made using just a handful of materials, and I especially adore the one with painted gold edges. What a lucky gal your neice is to have such a sweet aunt to make her one-of-a-kind accessories.
