I'm still here!

Hello my fellow kindred spirits! I just wanted to let you know that I am still here and kicking. You may not see me blogging much, but I'm still creating as much as I can. For one reason or another,  it's easier for me to post my current paintings and creations on facebook or instagram. If you haven't already, you can friend me on my facebook profile page, like me on my facebook fanpage and also follow me on my instagram account. These are the sites you'll most likely see my latest creations for now if not here on my blog.

Here is my latest painting. It's one of the bigger pieces I've done in a while. Created on a huge 20" X 20" canvas. Tons of mixed media was used to make this piece including decorative papers, paints and stamps. 

Here's a pic of my work in progress, too. I had so much fun creating her.

Happy 2013!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! Today also happens to be my Five Year Blogoversary! Whoohoo! I can't believe how time flies when your happily creating. I normally have a giveaway all set up but unfortunately I have to push that back for now. "I will be posting more for sure this year." I have to have that in writing to make sure that I do. Heehee! I think I did okay with my 36 posts for 2012 compared to the sad 5 posts I did for 2011. Here's to more posts for 2013!

So what's on the drawing board? For now, I'm playing with ACEO's again. These tiny art pieces are 2.5" x 3.5". I have so much fun painting on these little canvases. Besides that, more larger paintings in the works as well as sharing my art journal pages again.

She will make a difference

Here's my latest mixed media portrait created on a 5" X 7" canvas. 

I love the way she turned out. Full of touchable texture.

I added a few fabric flowers and a paper leaf. The flowers are centered with some brads. 

I also stitched some sequins down around them with french knots.

Dream Art Quilt

Hello everyone! Here is a new portrait art quilt I created using an original painting. I always have so much fun stitching up something new. 

I painted her first on canvas, then attached it directly onto the fabric with embroidery. Full of sweet embellishments.

Her Crowning Strength

Here is my latest mixed media painting. I just love the way she turned out. Above is a WIP photo I created. I try my best to take photos in between painting but sometimes I get lost in the creative process.

Hand Stitched Goodies

I've been painting and stitching away lately. Up first is a sweet original painting I stitched into an ornie. I love how she turned out.

Here are some pins I painted and stitched up as well. A panda (my favorite), a black kitty cat and a blue owl. I had super fun making these kindred cuties.

Here is the panda pin before she was packed and shipped away.

I also created some flower pins too. As you can see from the BEFORE and AFTER photos, their petals look quite different. I decided to change it up from canvas to felt instead. It happens every now and then. I liked them much better this way.

And last but not least is a portrait art quilt I created using a fabric print of my original painting.

She's still one of my favorite angel paintings! I just had to use her in this mini art quilt.
