Under the Sea

This is an 11" X 14" canvas collage painting. A mixed media piece using collage papers, oil pastels, metallic, & acrylic paints. A coating of beeswax was used to create a textured dreamy effect & a unique protective finish.

SOAR

This angel fairy flutters high in the sky holding up her flapping flag against the wind. It signifies reaching high for your dreams and letting your imagination SOAR!

Creative Flow

All of my painted creations start out in similar stages. I first begin with a sketch or layout. Then I paint using a variety of different mediums. I love to experiment at this point. Titles & themes usually come to mind now if not at the beginning. Depending on added collage work, textures or beeswax, the final process of embellishing is where I have the most fun. Sometimes I end up with something so different from what I first imagined. It often works out for the best and helps with my creative flow. I never know exactly what I'll have til the very end.

Sentimental

I am truly a sentimental person. There are so many memories that get me emotional just thinking about them. I think it started more or less back in highschool when I would save little tokens like movie stubs, airplane tickets, restaurant napkins, travel brochures, anything and everything that I could include in my scrapbook of memories. The special thing about these so called worthless objects to some is who I was with when I collected them. I can open a scrapbook album or box and find a little treasure that will make me reminisce about a forgotten time. To hear a song or watch a movie again that reminds you of someone special, a sweet photo where you know you had to just be there to understand the pose. All these sincere emotions that overwhelm you at any given moment makes you a sentimental spirit like me. :)

You are Loved

This 5" X 7" canvas painting is a mixed media piece I created using a stamp, ink, acrylics, oil pastels, & decoupage tissues.

HOPE

I enjoy combining my favorite art passions whenever I can. Besides painting & altered art, I love hand-stitching art quilts. In this 8" X 10" canvas piece I started out with a painting of a sweet angel, then I went ahead and hand-stitched down fabric, lace, appliques, beads, & multiple embellishments to finish it up.
