I can't imagine what my life would be like if I didn't create.
If I stay away too long from making something, I tend to get withdrawals. Not sure if that's only me. Do you ever get that way?
My artistic journey so far has been filled with meeting so many amazing artists out here in blogland. The on-going support and love you have all given me has been more than I could ask for. I really appreciate it. Thank you all so so so much!
The weather here has been nice and chilly. Just the way I like it. It has even inspired me to get back to my love of stitching. Hopefully, I can share it all with you soon. The difficult thing about having more than one artistic passion is that I get side tracked very easily.
I could be happily stitching away, but when a sketch is calling out for
me to paint her... well, you can guess the answer to that.
For more info on this angel painting, you can find her now on ebay.
(sold, thanks!)
Thank you for your sweet visit! :)
Oh I can totally relate lol
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's easier going to work lol
Once the time is done you go home to relax.
Doing crafts gets you lost in your own world.
I need a special room to organize my stuff in so I can do all these things without it spreading throughout the whole house.(sigh)
I know exactly what you are talking about. If I don't work in my art every day, I actually get angry at myself for not allowing the time for my passion. I love art.
ReplyDeleteYour work is lovely. I imagine you will have some beautiful stitchery to show us soon.
She is very pretty. I love her soulful eyes and all the texture in this piece.
ReplyDeleteHI Lisa..she is incredible and wonderful..a very healing and energizing feel to her also! and the warmth of the powerful sun illuminates her soul!
ReplyDeleteYes me too..I must create and cannot imagine going a day wihtout painting or creating or playing music or something creative in some way..we are kindreds..so yes I know what you mean!

She is just so beautiful, Lisa. I love her expression. The golden background and texture is also amazing. I do get itchy when I can't create something. Hope you have a great weekend! Theresa

ReplyDeleteYou have a way with creating the most amazing eyes. I'm melted by them each time, Lisa. She is so mesmerizing. LOVE her.
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling!!!! This is lovely!
ReplyDeleteoh she is heavenly!!! what a wonderful painting Lisa...your work always makes me smile....
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about the NEED to create. I start to wither when I'm not working on my art. So glad you heeded the call to work on your newest piece. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa what can I say ???
ReplyDeleteThis is again so beautiful. Your drawing work is absolutely unique. Love them. Big applause from me.
Have a lovely weekend my dear friend.
Stunning painting her eyes are wonderful and the texture is gorgeous as always, makes me want to reach out and touch it!! :)
ReplyDeleteWe are having crazy weather here in the UK it's been gale force winds and hammering it down with rain for the past week. Before that it was lovely and cold and crisp like a proper Autumn, I want it back again ;)

She is so dreamy Lisa, an absolute beauty. In case you didn't check your emails yet, I just wanted you to know that the wonderful Halloween book arrived yesterday and I am blown away by how stunning it is!! You are so talented lady!
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me, as always. And yes, I can relate to what you're saying. I have like 3 little "work stations" going on in my tiny little art room with something going on. Pretty soon there won't be any room for me :)
ReplyDeleteYou are gifted with two incredible talents, dear Lisa. And you are a sweet and lovely person. Your angel looks so dreamy, very pretty, like everything you make.Nevertheless, don´t forget to take some time to relax.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Janine
She is lovely! Do you think your paintings reflect how you feel? Do they look like you? Enjoy your weekend! I'm happy to be creative again! ♥
ReplyDeleteOMG Lisa, she's so lifelike!!! How BEAUTIFUL! You will never stop amazing me with the things you create!...I can't wait to see your new stitchings!...I get antsy if I go too long without creative time too! Have a fun weekend, sweet kindred girl! xoxo Paulette :):):)
ReplyDeleteI get that too...withdrawals...which leads to me getting very grumpy! I NEED to keep working on something creative. I would love to see your stitching. I get sidetracked easily too...I've been trying hard NOT to work on jewelry right now, until I finish a few unfinished paintings 1st...but I'm not sure how long I could ignore my wire and beads...they are calling out to me lately! We'll see what happens, LOL!

OH, oops, and I forgot to tell you that I think this is another beautiful painting! I love dropping in to see your newest piece...I'm NEVER disappointed! That second photo really gets me...the close up of the textures and beautiful colors and glazes....sigh... I love your work!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say. Art is just part of who we are. If I'm not painting, drawing, making jewelry or stitching or knitting, I'm looking at books of the same subjects or reading fascinating blogs like yours. I used to feel guilty for staying in on sunny days, but no longer. Don't feel guilty for being who you are.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece, love the colors. Stunning.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I'm the same, I can't be away from my studio for very long :) As for having more than one artistic passion, I think one feeds the other and it's good to switch things up, it keeps the creative energy moving.
Have a creative week :)
Cheers,
Jo
She is beautiful, as always!
ReplyDeleteLisa, Yes I am feeling like that right now. Way too busy and my sculpture is callingg. She is a big, multi faceted, multi phase project and I can't believe I have to work when she's there calling me.... By the way, still love your work! How do you manage to combine frank, soulful honesty with hope- every time?
ReplyDeleteWow your blog is wonderful and truly inspirational. Annette x
ReplyDeleteLisa, I have been spending more time creating over the past year, looking back I was always complaining that I never had the time, studio, light, peace, the list was endless. Now I wonder how I got through a week without creating, I try and do something daily however small. It is great to be on your blog, you are very talented, and I will definitely follow your work! Blessings Amanda
ReplyDeleteYour work is so inspiring to me....Everything here is beautiful =)
ReplyDeleteYes, as the one of the comments made the eyes are beautiful they draw you into the soul of the painting.
ReplyDeleteOn creating your right, if I stay away from writing my poems I seem to get lost in the events of the day, month or however long I am away from creating the thoughts from within. So I must take the time to write every day. Even if its for one hour in the day. So yes I know what you mean withdrawing if you don't make yourself take the time to create. Again beautiful artwork. Keep creating. Paulette
This painting is very beautiful, and I especially like the texture details on the wings. There's also a peacefulness behind the eyes that feels serene and calming.
ReplyDeleteYes I have withdrawals too lol
ReplyDeleteOnce you have something in your head it's hard to put it away.
As usual everything is very pretty here :)
This piece of art somehow brought tears to my eyes, expressing just what I feel, after the death of my father-in-law, trying to understand life. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so inspiring!!!!!!!!!!! I am snatching your banner to add to my blog! All my love, Zinnia
ReplyDeleteI love the dreamy look in her eyes. Beautiful as always! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful work!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a peaceful and merry Christmas!
Blessings, Hege
