Flower Pincushion
I've always enjoyed creating hand-stitched pieces like altered art dolls, pillows, fabric brooches, mini crazy quilts, and especially ACEO's (Art Cards Editions, & Originals). This however, is the first pincushion I've ever created. It measures 5" X 5" in width & 3.5" in height. This two tier pincushion was made with multiple colors of wool felt. Stuffed firmly with a generous amount of poly-fil. The center of the pincushion has a flower applique, a crocheted flower, a gem flower brad, and has a surrounding of tiny seed beads. Also included in this piece is a lady bug brooch that I stitched up using felts, beads, & a pin back. It measures 1.5" X 1.25". Besides the three pins that I have on the the pincushion, I've also created a cute flower pin that is identical on both sides with a button center. I finished it all off with decorative fiber trims & a blanket stitch.
I was inpired & asked to create a pincushion by my creative friend Paulette (aka beedeebabee on ebay). She is a wonderful artist who recently also started making pincushions full of sweet embroidery & imagination. Be sure to check out her cute quilted creations on the following link.
