Happy October!

(Sold, thanks!)

Hello My Pretties! I can't believe it is already October. How did that happen? Here is a witch pin I created using an altered image. I gave her a light acrylic wash in green for her skin color, of course. Also, a little jingle bell dangles at the bottom. Below is the witch cottage pincushion I created a while back. Both of these creations are now in my shop! :)

Magical Blessings

Hello creative lovelies! First off, I'd like to say *T*H*A*N*K*S* again to all of you for peppering me with positive vibes regarding my Halloween party/Kindred Cuties and my latest Kindred Sisters painting. I feel so lucky to have your support in my art! It means so much! You are all *S*T*A*R*S*!

Here is my entry for the first challenge at The Play Date Cafe.

Mixed Media ACEO
Size: 2.5" X 3.5"
Meet Fiona, #6 from my series of Kindred Cuties.

Sweet Julie of http://juliesopenwindow.blogspot.com/ has designed this week's challenge.

Julie says:
"Each week, someone from our design team will be your host. What does that mean? It means the color choices and the inspiration behind those colors are chosen personally by that week's host. You never know what story may come with that inspiration, so be ready for anything."

I am so glad to have the chance to participate in this weekly inspiration. Not only does it encourage my creativity, it also comes with a sweet incentive: a weekly prize and badge to the one lucky winner.

I'll try my very best to create for all the fun challenges to come. I really enjoyed making this one for the grand 1st Challenge event. If you'd like to join me for this challenge or the next, visit The Play Date Cafe and/or Julie for more details.

Thanks again for your visit and support! I plan to list Fiona on ebay later today (*update* tomorrow). Keep watch as well, I'll be revealing the other Kindred Cuties from my Halloween Party soon too.

Magical Blessings,
Lisa :)

Double-Sided ACEO's

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a great October so far! As you may already know, I love Halloween and all the tricks and treats to see. Can't wait to visit all of your Halloween inspired spookfabulous blogs!

The following are ACEO's (Art Cards, Editions & Originals) I created and sold in 2007. ACEO's are 2.5" X 3.5". These ACEO's were all double-sided cards created using acrylics, collage paper, digital works, as well as new & vintage images. I added my own blessing & spells to the backs of the first three cards.

Spell to Life's Happiness:

Troubles be gone,
Worries move on,
Receive my call,
To all good witches,
Mend my troubles,
With your charmed stitches,
Blessed be thee,
Remove strife and stress,
Heed my call now,
For my life's happiness!

Blessing of Inspiration:

When inspiration
has passed you by,
May it return
with this one sigh,
Creative efforts
from now & then,
Mind & Soul
shall soar again.

Spell for Heart's Desire:

All Good Witches,
Hear my Call,
Grant my Yearning,
Most of All,
To Need, To Want,
To Have what's Mine,
Barriers Free,
The Test of Time,
A Treasured Fitting,
Longed to Acquire,
Bestow my Bidding,
My Heart's Desire.

Love Potion #9 is a special elixer made to override the lusting temptations & errors of Love Potion #8, inevitably when used, Love Potion #9 prevents love from ever fading away.

I added baby Tabitha's face from Bewitched to this card. I love that show. The Love Potion #9 movie with Sandra Bullock is also a favorite.

This is the ACEO art quilt I created using the double-sided altered images. Completely hand stitched using embroidery thread & beads.

Since creating the blessing & spells in 2007, I've already incorporated them in a few altered stitched and painted pieces. I really enjoy thinking up new blessings & spells for fun. I hope to create more for this Halloween season.

Thanks for coming to visit! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Blessings,
Lisa :)

Hocus Pocus

This cute witch painting has a shortened version of my original "Spell to Life's Happiness" created a couple of years ago. I've included this spell in a couple of art pieces, one of them is shown in an earlier blog.

Troubles be gone,
Worries move on,
Blessed be thee,
Remove strife & stress,
Heed my call now,
For my Life's Happiness!

8" X 8" X 1.5" deep on stretched canvas

The sides have been painted and are staple-free.

This close-up shows the sleeping moon that dangles from her hat.

Waving her magical wand high as she says the spell!

Created using ink, oil pastels, stamps, metallic, & acrylic paints.

Keep watch for more spell creations to come!

Our 1st Ever Collaboration Painting!

Mr. & Mrs. Lectura*creations presents:

"Trick or Treat Trail"

11" X 14" on stretched canvas

It has probably happened to most of us on the night of All Hallow's Eve, the trick or treat trail is full of welcoming houses to visit, but every now and then a house looks too spooky to even give into your sweet tooth.

A cute little costumed witch holds onto her pumpkin pail so tight, not even her magic wand can make her brave without a fright. Will she follow the trail below and find more treats to add, or will the keepers of this house make her scared and sad?

What do you think?

Created using ink, oil pastels, metallic, & acrylic paints.

Keep Watch! This will be up for auction on ebay tomorrow evening!

This little witch is as sweet as can be.

Popping out behind her skirt is a cutie black cat named Boo.

Charmed by the moonlight and the dark twinkling sky.

A tiny spider dangles from Boo's hat.

Created using ink, pastels, metallic, & acrylic paints. Protected with a glossy finish.

Spell to Life's Happiness

This is an 8" X 10" canvas painting I created of a Good Witch and her spell to life's happiness. I originally wrote this spell a couple of years ago for another altered art piece which included a vintage image of a little girl & her cat. I altered the image and made her a little witch instead. From there, the spell was born. I just had to incorporate the spell into this piece. I make sure to always note that this spell written by me is for enjoyment purposes only. I hope that your life's happiness is soon to be met.

Spell to Life's Happiness
Troubles be gone,
Worries move on,
Receive my call,
To all good witches,
Mend my troubles,
With your charmed stitches,
Blessed be thee,
Remove strife and stress,
Heed my call now,
For my life's happiness!
