Altered art is always fun, especially when it's your own art you're altering. I get a real creative buzz when incorporating my two favorite crafts in some way. I do have a sewing machine, but I prefer to completely hand-stitch all my pieces. Hand-stitching gives it a more one of a kind feel and it never ceases to relax me when doing it. I love it!
I have so much fun adding embellishments. Buttons, beads, sequins, ribbons, flower appliques, lace, ... Oh my!
I've only been stitching for a couple of years now. There are still so many embroidery techniques & fabric ideas that I have to try. The trouble with that is the overload of ideas for stitching & painting. Where does all the time go?
I love it, and I think it's awesome that you hand stitch everything!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing, you are a great talent!!

ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do all that. All of that stiching is amazing. Very beautiful.

Your stitching looks so perfect. I tried to purchase one of the ornaments you had featured on your blog, but by the time I got to your Etsy shop, I was too late. Oh well, one day.

Those are so beautiful, Lisa! I would go blind trying to sew all those tiny little beads. My perfect vision has diminished with age. My kids tease me about using a magnifying light to do the smaller details on my paintings. They say I look like I am performing surgery..ha ha. Anyway, I love your work!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful as always!
